What is Civil Engineering?
Civil Engineering may be define as a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like dams, canal, road, bridges, and buildings.
Civil engineering being the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, was defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering.
Military engineering may be define as an art and practice of designing and building military equipment, transportation, communications and its maintenance

structural engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, geophysics, geodesy, control engineering, architectural engineering, forensic engineering, geotechnical engineering, earth science, atmospheric sciences, earthquake engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, aerospace engineering, quantity surveying, offshore engineering, and construction engineering, surveying.
Architectural Engineering-
it is also known as building engineering, architectural engineering is the application of engineering principles and technology to building designand construction.
Environmental Engineering-
it is the integration of science and engineering principles to improve the natural environment, to provide heaelthy water, air, and land for human habitation and for other organisms, and to clean up pollution in our environmnt
Geotechnical Engineering-
t is concerned with the engineering behavior of earth materials.
Geophysics -
Geophysics is concerned with the physical processes and physical properties of the Earth and its surrounding space environment, and also the use of quantitative methods for their analysis.
Geodesy
also known as geodetics or geodetics engineering— is the scientific discipline that deals with the measurement and representation of the Earth, including its gravitational field, in a three-dimensional time-varying space.

Control engineering or control systems engineering is the engineering discipline that applies control theory to design systems with desired behaviors.
Structural Engineering
it deals with the analysis and design of structures that support or resist loads.
